Tactical Combat Casaulty Care

PDR25

PDR25 is a pre-hospital trauma manikin built for tactical combat casualty care. Interchangeable limb modules present distinct trauma configurations, covering catastrophic haemorrhage control, fully interventional airway, and blast trauma. Bleeds are independently managed through a manual control unit. The platform supports procedural training from tourniquet application and needle decompression through to surgical airway and intraosseous access.

What It Teaches

Massive Hemorrhage
PDR25 presents a range of injury sites, from entry and exit gunshot wounds to traumatic amputation. Each responds to tourniquet application, with active haemorrhage confirmed before and after placement. A junctional wound cavity accepts haemostatic gauze and z-fold packing, responding to correct depth with tamponade.

Airway
The airway spans a full intervention pathway, from supraglottic adjuncts through to cricothyroidotomy. It presents at grade 1/2 and responds to head positioning.

Respiration
Chest trauma ranges from open to tension pneumothorax. A chest wound responds to chest seal application. Bilateral NDC sites accept a standard angiocath for needle decompression and carry through to chest tube insertion from the same site.

Circulation
Vascular access spans tibial IO through to antecubital IV cannulation. Bony landmarks and palpable veins respond to correct technique at each site, with instructor-controlled flashback confirming successful venepuncture. A chest compression site demands accurate depth and pressure.

Head / Extended Care
Concurrent haemorrhage across multiple bleed sites responds to independent instructor valve control, forcing triage and prioritisation under pressure. A urethral S-path responds to correct catheter insertion technique, with fluid return confirming the catheter is seated. Assessment carries forward into extended care.

Key Features

Airway Management
Accepts BVM, intubation, supraglottic adjuncts, and cricothyroidotomy. Supports jaw thrust and head tilt-chin lift throughout.

Modular Limb Configuration
Limb modules attach and detach in a single action. The fluid line connects automatically on attachment. No tools required.

Traumatic Wound Suite
Entry and exit GSW respond to tourniquet. Partial and full amputations respond to tourniquet. Junctional wounds accept packing. Chest wound accepts chest seal. Impalement, compound fracture with palpable bone, and head trauma complete the range.

Cricothyroidotomy Site
A silicone neck sleeve presents palpable thyroid and cricoid cartilage. The membrane punctures and responds to incision, supporting repeated incisions before replacement.

Procedure Sites
IO at humeral and tibial sites, plus NDC and chest tube sites, each using a replaceable cartridge system that maintains tactile feedback across multiple insertions.

IV & Urinary Access
Antecubital cannulation with palpable veins and instructor-controlled flashback. Urinary catheterisation via a male anatomical S-path with internal sphincter resistance and fluid return.

Chest Compression
Delivers the resistance and recoil profile of an adult male thorax, with full depth compression and passive return on release.

BLEED CONTROLLER

BLEED CONTROL MODULE

PDR25 replicates the concurrent haemorrhage presentation of blast and ballistic trauma across 8 independent sites, a urine reservoir, and a vomit expulsion system. All fluid output runs through a single multi-lumen umbilical with magnetic coupling. Lines open on connection and close simultaneously on disconnection.

The Bleed Control Module gives instructors independent rotary valve control of every output site. Ten labelled valves correspond directly to anatomical locations. Bleeds can be escalated, de-escalated, or redirected in real time without interrupting the scenario. Limb modules reconfigure in a single action, connecting the fluid line automatically on attachment.
