Extraction Pre-Hospital Trauma Care

EXT25

A full-body extraction casualty trainer, retrofitting the Ruth Lee Duty manikin with the critical interventions specified for pre-hospital care in maritime, technical, and structural rescue environments. EXT25 accepts supraglottic airways across the full adjunct range and delivers chest rise and fall.

EXT25 trains tourniquet application, junctional wound packing, pelvic binding, and intraosseous access, with responsive bleed sites that confirm correct technique

What It Teaches

Airway management through the extrication sequence
Progressive intervention from manual positioning through supraglottic insertion to mechanical ventilation, with iGel, LMA, ETT, and BVM performing across the full escalation pathway

Casualty extraction under load
Drag, carry, and movement techniques through confined space, vehicle extrication, and structural collapse scenarios, using the Ruth Lee Duty platform's rated weight and handling characteristics to replicate moving an incapacitated adult casualty.

Key Features

Duty Manikin Platform
Built on the Ruth Lee Duty chassis, selected for its drag and extraction handling, load-bearing weight, and durability under repeated training use, giving teams the same handling characteristics they'd encounter moving an incapacitated adult casualty.

Supraglottic and mechanical airway range
A grade 1/2 airway that responds to head positioning, with vocal cords visible on direct laryngoscopy and chest rise and fall visible across all ventilation methods, from iGel and LMA through ETT and BVM to standard mechanical ventilator connection.

Chest compression site
Delivers 55kg force resistance and 55mm compression depth, matched to adult male thoracic recoil, with full depth depression and passive return on release.

Junctional packing wound
A penetrating wound cavity accepting haemostatic gauze, z-fold gauze, and standard packing adjuncts, where correct packing depth achieves tamponade and stops haemorrhage.

Full-thickness laceration site
An irregular-margin forearm wound with a sinuous wound path, set in a replaceable panel so the laceration module swaps independently of the bleed control hardware.
