Cellulitis

Available in two presentations, graded to reflect the Eron classification of skin and soft tissue infections.

Clinical Skills

What It Teaches

Differential Recognition
The visible bite mark fixed at the centre of the affected area gives learners a defined point of origin, distinguishing cellulitis from other pathologies.

Staged Severity Assessment
Two presentations, graded to the Eron classification, train recognition. The Class I sleeve presents contained erythema with a defined border. The Class III sleeve presents extensive spread, significant oedema, and multiple deep abscesses, placing learners at the threshold where oral antibiotic management is no longer appropriate.

Margin and Spread Assessment
learners can trace the erythema border directly onto the sleeve and re-mark it as a scenario progresses.

Key Features

Class I
The Class I sleeve presents localised erythema centred on a single entry wound. The bite mark provides a clear causal indicator, distinguishing this presentation from superficial dermatological conditions with overlapping visual characteristics.

Class III
The Class III sleeve models systemic progression: significant oedema at the ankle, extensive erythematous coverage, and multiple deep abscesses reflecting an advanced infection.

Wearable Format
A single-piece silicone construction with a stretch fit accommodates both live actors and standard patient simulators in one generic size. Built for repeated daily use, it's available across a range of skin tones.
